The machine is 214 cm tall and the user stands on the top step. Allow a clear height of at least the tallest user's height plus about 130 cm, in a typical gym 3 m.

Stair climber or treadmill?
Stairs load the glutes and thighs much more and without impact, a treadmill is more universal for walking and running. In a cardio area they complement each other.
